Reading Goals

Did you know reading can help us improve our health? Research has shown reading can…

  • Increase Health Literacy
  • Help you sleep
  • Reduce stress
  • Improve brain connectivity

Let’s set reading goals to improve our health and keep us accountable!

Here’s How You Do It:

  1.  Choose a focus. Think about what area of reading you could improve on then use this area as your focus. See a few examples below.
    • Number of books
    • Number of pages
    • Amount of time per day
    • The type of book read
  2. Make it specific by adding a number to your goal. First think about how much you are currently reading. You want your goal to be higher than what you currently read but not too high that you will never reach it, this called making it attainable.
  3. Choose a deadline. This is a date that you wish to complete your goal by. Deadlines help create a challenge.
  4. Put it all together! Use the Ready to Read worksheet to keep your focus, number, and deadline all in one place.
