Go Fish

Print off 2 copies of your EAT or PLAY cards!

Movements are listed below with additional seated modifications. 

PLAY CARDS:

  • Play Individually
    • 2-4 players
    • Playing with 32 cards, 16 matches

OR

  • Play in Teams
    • Team of 3-8 players
    • Play with 32 cards, 16 matches

Here's how you do it:

  1.     Lay all the cards face down in the middle.
  2.     Each player or team picks 4 cards.
    • Player/Team cannot start the game with a match.
  3.     Player/Team 1 asks another Player/Team 2 for a particular card.
  4.     If the Player/Team 2 has the card they must give them the card.
  5.     If the Player/Team 2does not have the card, they will say Go Fish.
  6.     Player/Team 1 draws a card out of the middle
    • If the Player/Team 1 does not get their card they must complete the activity on the card they asked for.
    • If Player/Team 1 makes a match. They must perform the movement & repetitions before they move forward
  7. Player/Team 1 continues their turn until they do not get a match    
  8. Repeat with Player/Teams in the game until all cards are matched.
    1. If a Player/Team loses all of their cards or matches all of their cards, the Player/Team should draw another card out of the middle.

EAT CARDS:

  • 2-5 players
  • Playing with 30 cards, 15 matches

Here's how you do it:

  1.     Lay all the cards face down in the middle.
  2.     Each player picks 4 cards.
    • Player cannot start the game with a match.
  3.     Player 1 asks another player for a particular card.
  4.     If the player has the card they must give Player 1 the card.
  5.     If the player does not have the card, they will say Go Fish.
  6.     Player 1 draws a card out of the middle.
  7.     If Player 1 makes a match. They must the say the food group of the match before moving forward.
  8.     Repeat until a player has gotten rid of all their cards.

Rookie (Pre-K – 2ndgrade)

  • Consider reducing the repetitions to 5 reps per exercise
  • Answer the food group together

Pro (3rd– 5thgrade)

  • 10 repetitions is great for this level
  • Students at this level should start to understand food groups

All-Star (6th– 8thgrade)

  • Depending on fitness level, you can add repetitions to increase the difficulty
  • Students at this level should know all of their food groups
